If any of you are like me, you like art, and nothing is sweeter than getting a sneaker with some artwork on it. 2016 was easily Adidas’s year, and three days into 2017, it looks like Adidas is coming for this year as well. One of the main reasons Adidas has been so successful recently is because of their collaborations. Not to mention the trust they’ve put into streetwear brands to team up with them, making amazing pieces for us sneaker heads to enjoy. Adidas has now teamed up with MIKITYPE, who is a designer that specializes in Japanese calligraphy. As you can see, Adidas brought back the NMD City Sock, this time added MIKITYPE’S calligraphy on the EVA plugs and middle of the shoe. Although the shoes structure is pretty much identical to all the other city socks, it would be nice to be able to flex on your friends knowing you have the MIKITYPE edition City Sock. So sieht der United Arrows & Sons x Adidas NMD CS_1 aus

Keine Frage, der Adidas NMD City Sock 1 ist schon für sich genommen eine Brett. In der Kollabo mit United Arrows & Sons bekommt der NMD noch mal eine besondere Würze. Gemeinsam mit dem Typografiker MIKITYPE haben die Japaner die Brands United Arrows & Sons sowie Adidas in die Ästhetik der Katakana Schriftzeichen gepackt. Für den Europäer entsprechend verschlüsselt ist das Branding als weißer Print auf dem sonst schwarzen Upper an der Innenseite, dem EVA Plug der Midsole sowie am Heel Tab gesetzt. Das Upper kommt als woven Primeknit Konstruktion und sitzt natürlich auf einer weißen Midsole. Dazu gibt’s eine Gum Outsole und schwarze Plugs.

adidas Originals x United Arrows & Sons

In a new collaborative partnership, adidas Originals has joined up with renowned Japanese fashion brand and retailer United Arrows & Sons on an exclusive collection of footwear and apparel.

Known across Japan for their relaxed sartorial take on classic fashion designs, United Arrows & Sons has brought this same perspective to a capsule of iconic 3-stripes designs, working closely with up & coming typographer MIKITYPE on a text graphic which reads “United Arrows & Sons” and “adidas Originals” in Katakana.

In apparel, the label presents two colourways of the adidas track suit, pairing a classic full-zip track top with a tapered track pant, featuring MIKITYPE’s graphics integrated into each garment’s 3-stripes details and across the track top’s chest. Finishing touches include adidas trefoil branding on the left chest and thigh and MIKITYPE branding detail on the rear of each garment.

An accompanying footwear release then applies United Arrows & Sons’ understated aesthetic to one of adidas’ most coveted contemporary models, the NMD_CS1. The shoe features a full textured Primeknit construction in black, placed atop the NMD’s signature Boost tooling withEVA plug inserts.

MIKITYPE’s typography then appears on the shoe’s forefoot plug, heel straps and medial quarter, finished with a co -branded insole. The result is a striking blend of classic and contemporary style, true to the aesthetic of United Arrows & Sons and the pioneering spirit of adidasOriginals.

This Limited-Edition Adidas NMD Collaboration Will Be Released March 25

Adidas’ sock-like version of the NMD, the NMD CS1, is releasing in a new limited-edition look later this month. This collaboration, which features both footwear and apparel, is in partnership with Japanese fashion brand and retailer United Arrows & Sons. For this take on the NMD CS1 (also known as the NMD City Sock), Adidas and United Arrows & Sons tapped typography designer Mikitype to adorn the sneaker with unique Katakana graphics that reference the participating brands. Mikitype’s art can be seen on the front EVA plug, heel tab, and medial patches of the sneaker, which also features a black Primeknit upper, full-length Boost cushioning and a translucent gum rubber outsole. The United Arrows & Sons x Adidas NMD C1 features a black Primeknit upper, white Boost cushioning and a gum rubber outsole. The brands didn’t stop at the sneakers, as this collaboration also features tracksuits inspired by heritage Adidas looks. The co-branded apparel is available in black and burgundy and also features graphics by Mikitype. This collection is slotted for a March 18 pre-release — presumed to be an exclusive launch at United Arrows & Sons locations — followed by a wider global launch from select Adidas Originals retailers on March 25.
